Postgame Spread
You guys hangin' out? I'll hang out.

I wrote two different full-length posts today.  I had insights.  I had funny things to say.  I even got mad and made threats, which is usually entertaining whether I mean it to be or not.  But I don't even feel like even taking a position anymore, let alone sharing it.  All I know is that I spent all day thinking about the Red Sox, and now I'm fucking ashamed of myself for doing it.

  • Get a grip. They have 36 games left and are only down 4 in the wild card standings with 3 games left against minnesota, chicago, and the yankees.

Side note: # of times I've heard Go Pats when sports came up over the last day at work or on the radio ~1000000000. I would think winning it a few years back would ease the gloom and doom. Winning it seems to have only raised the expectations.

  • You don't get to say a word about this until you make it through an entire season without quitting on the Redskins.

  • I know I quit on the redskins early, but there are a few differences.

    1. The Redskins haven't made noise in the playoffs since I was in middle school.
    2. The Redskins HAVEN'T been any good, arguably, the Red Sox are good, just going through a bad stretch.
    3. I've never quit on the Redskins with 36 games left.
    4. There is a really good chance the Sox make the playoffs this year.
    5. The Skins were a lesson in futility, being one of the worst teams over the last 15 years, the Sox were one of the best, barring their playoff woes. 1 and 5 are really the same, just said differently.
