Found this write-up of Freddy Adu's recent U-20 dominance on the Bog. Looks like he did OK in the quarterfinal loss to Austria, setting up the lone US goal on a cross. I left him for dead after the trade to Real Salt Lake, and he's hardly done much to make his presence known since arriving in Utah, but could his commandeering of the U-20 team be taken as a sign of life?

Freddy A-who?
3 Comments:
I am very heartened by the U-20 tournament as well. I assume the Austrians are cheaters -- how else could a team reach the semis despite their coach saying shit like this?
"Today our will to win was very strong..."With this will, a summer fairy tale for Austrians has come true."
Although, I suppose it probably sounded much fiercer in German.

Adu will be good once he gets some muscle and matures a little more.
I really do worry about where they will play him. I don't doubt his first touch or his dribbling ability, but I don't think he innately sees the field like a point guard should. I guess that is ok if he is playing striker.

I knew Freddy was looking international, but was unaware that he'd started talking to Celtic FC already.
