New York Sucks... It Really Really Sucks

Isiah: "It's all cool, man, it's cool."
Knicks: "The goddamned plane has crashed into the mountain!"

Ah, my Knicks. Gotta love 'em.

Hey, what're those big buildings back there?

From the above linked article:
"Thomas has convinced Dolan that he is rebuilding and yet the Chicago Bulls own the Knicks' first-round pick this June, which is almost certain to be a lottery selection. Also, the payroll is at a league-high $120 million and climbing."

Excuse me while I go vomit. The only upside is that this will give the Bulls a good shot of landing JJ Redick, who can team up with Luol Deng and Chris Duhon for the ultimate trifecta of mediocrity. Ok, this is WAY premature, but can you imagine Luol, Duhon, Hinrich and JJ on the floor at once? Would the shot clock ever get below 15 before someone launched a three?
In fact, what's the over/under on how long before Hinrich and JJ have an awkward threesome with some semi-accidental grabass? I say November.

  • Lehr, if Chicago takes Redick you should be glad you dodged a bullet. Because his draft stock is so inflated, you could suck on it and start talking like Woody Woodpecker.

Which reminds me... Mike Patrick's already sucking on it. During Duke-BC the other night, J.J. disingenuously helped BC's point guard up off the floor after the kid double-dribbled. So Patrick starts screaming at the top of his lungs about what a sportsman Redick was. In the middle of a close game, it's more important to yell at the top of your lungs about something that happens all the time with all kinds of players? Sure, Mike. Makes you wonder how he could speak so clearly and loudly with Redick's cock in his mouth. Then again, what's life without a little mystery?

Now, what does that have to do with the draft? What does it have to do with anything? Was it just a lame attempt to raise my VORP back above the Renteria Line? No, it was meant to illustrate how Redick's draft status will be inflated by horseshit like this.

Let's see. The guy can't create his own shot, and has a cursory understanding of defense. Doesn't scream "lottery pick" to me. This guy's not the second coming of anyone... Steve Kerr maybe, but that's it. Redick's a good player, and a great shooter, but so is Fred Hoiberg. You gonna sell out your draft for Fred Hoiberg? Let's all put the popsicles back in the freezer.

  • Agreed on all counts. I saw that game, and Redick was clearly playing the good guy- and seemed awfuly, well, dora about it, if you get my meaning.
I'm pretty sure that JJ talked some serious shit while he was helping that guy up.
Oh, and this was all shortly after that same BC guy schooled him and then spent like 30 seconds screaming right in his face. Awesome.
