Ugh. Are the Orioles trying to get leapfrogged by Tampa? This is exactly the kind of move that the early 90s Red Sox would make. File it with Harry Zimm... "well I gotta tell 'em something!" If they're doing this just to placate Miggie, and be all like "look at us, we're trying, wow all this trying is really exhausting," that's dumb. Don't they have like 12 mediocre outfielders already? Patterson isn't a lost cause, but this trade makes no sense to me.
